Just Because You're Here
My wife and I left our vocation of over 11 collective years earlier this year to make some major life transitions. We moved to a new country and began to pursue new careers. As you can imagine that time of transition was filled with a huge amount of uncertainty, fear and pressure. As a man, the desire to provide for my family is strongly within me. In the midst of being unsure of how to do that, I wrote this song, and in writing it, I was reminded that the main thing in life is not amassing possessions and comforts, but rather cultivating a deep relationship with my wife and other loved ones in my life. Relationships are the most valuable currency in life.
Just Because You're Here
I know where we’re going, I just don’t know how to get there
And though I’ll be the strong one, I must admit I’m a little scared
I guess you could say, though the future is unclear
That I’m good for today just because you’re here
So let me be the first one to drive you can sleep right there beside me
I’ll go straight through ‘til morning and meanwhile we can leave our fears behind
And as long as you are with me, I would go anywhere
And as long as you don’t leave me, I don’t even care
Where we go from here
Or if we go at all
